I have always found it interesting that the intake forms at doctors' offices ask so much about the patients' family medical history. While I knew that I would have a tendency to experience many of the health issues that my ancestors faced, I thought that many of the medical problems that they faced were due to poor health choices or environmental toxins.Read More
We have so much for which to be thankful. Life, health, family, friends, our freedoms -- all of these things are wonderful blessings from God Himself. But even more than all of these, God has not dealt with us as we deserve. He's been patient with us and merciful. On top of this, His greatest mercy is providing His only begotten Son as a perfect atonement for our sins that if we believe in Him we will not perish but "have ever lasting life."Read More
Sometimes I'll start writing. Other times I'll work on illustrating.
Very rarely do I finish writing an entire children's book in one sitting, but I have. God receives all the praise for that!Read More
Even though I’m a relatively healthy 36-year old...I mean young man, I almost died at the end of January this year due to a clot deep in my right calf (deep vein thrombosis, or DVT) that broke up and went through my heart and peppered both of my lungs (pulmonary embolism, or PE).
There are some things that I’ve been doing differently to prevent being hospitalized again or dying from another DVT and PE.Read More
240 years ago, the courageous forefathers of the United States came together to declare independence from a king and a nation that was, at that time, tyrannical in their rule over the American colonies.Read More
...I not only went through another and much longer “boot camp” phase but did various obstacle courses, swam, boxed, wrestled, ran in boots with a rifle in tow, trained with Navy SEALs because my run times weren't fast enough, or endured the dreaded “Swim PEP,” an alternative to the regular physical fitness program conducted in a pool, with the SEALs because I had various injuries.Read More
Being a mother must be awesome. The power that mothers have to affect change in society really is huge! Tomorrow it will be 2 years since Mom died. 💐God was so kind to give me a baby who has eyes and a nose like her! 💕
Priscilla was almost born on her birthday too. When she looks at me, I see so much love and in some ways...a glimpse of Mom. 🙏
Sometimes it makes me cry and reminds me that she's gone, but mostly I am happy and at peace that I get to see her in Heaven one day! The precious and amazing gift from Jesus cannot compare to anything in this world. We are so grateful to the Lord for that! ❤️
There's a man we know very well who eats almost exclusively organic and minimally-processed food, only drinks water, doesn't use any tobacco products, doesn't drink alcohol, exercises regularly, brushes his teeth at least twice a day and flosses regularly. He has a very low amount of body fat and is in great shape. In college, he was part of a strength competition at the Army-Navy game in 2000 and completed 50 one-armed push-ups. This same man, at the age of 36, narrowly escaped death just a month ago.Read More
