The Meal Our Young Children Wanted to Cook Themselves

I am constantly amazed and blessed to see how often our young children beg me to cook for us!

Here is what I wrote late last night on an Instagram post:

We are so blessed to have young children who beg us to cook our meals! They prepared a delicious dinner and their attitudes were the best part. Heistheway (11) and Pelaiah (9) cooked all of it while Abraham (6) helped serve. They cooked Chicken Adobo (Estufao), brown rice, made salad and homemade dressing, and cooked green beans.

When they say, 'Mommy, Mommy, please please may I cook the chicken?!' and almost fight over it, I think we were successful in making learning and doing things in our home fun and enjoyable! Praise the Lord!

That has always been one of our main goals in our home --- to make being in our home and learning a joy and not drudgery. We want to enjoy working and being with one another and praise the Lord together! I wish I was driven to work just as hard as they beg me to when I was their age. :-)

Heistheway also diced the organic cantaloupe into pretty pieces and Abraham and Heistheway volunteered to wash and serve our white grapes and purple muscadine grapes. :-)
